Biography
Dr. Raina Murnak is an Assistant Professor and Studio Director of Contemporary Voice & Performance Artistry, Program Director of the MA Popular Music Pedagogy at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, and author of "Positive Psychology for Music Professionals: Character Strengths".
She’s a multi-talented performer, vocalist, songwriter, producer, performance coach, visual artist, actress, and choreographer, with over 20 years of experience on stage, on television, and in the studio. She presents on Stage Presence, Popular Voice, Movement, and Strength-Centered Pedagogies and recently released her book Positive Psychology for Music Professionals- Character Strengths (Routledge). She co-wrote and performed off-Broadway with actress Janine Turner in their musical Belva, and works closely with Pharrell Williams on both educational and musical projects.
Her BA and MA are in Vocal Performance and Composition from SUNY Stony Brook and a DMA in Music Theory/Composition and Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Miami.
